Getting started
Download the app
Crest is currently in beta. On iOS, join via TestFlight. On Android, join the Play Store beta programme.
Subscribe to podcasts
Search to find shows by name, paste an RSS feed URL directly, or import an OPML file. There's no account or sign-in required.
Press play
Crest puts the most recent episode from each show in your queue and opens straight to the Now Playing screen. Just tap play and you're done.
Let it flow
When you finish an episode, Crest moves on. Episodes you haven't got around to are quietly replaced — no backlog guilt, no manual tidying.
Frequently asked questions
How does the queue work?
By default, each show you subscribe to gets one slot in your queue — the latest episode. When a new episode comes out, it takes that slot. You'll never find yourself staring at a pile of episodes from the same show.
All these options are configurable for each show. You're in control.
To learn more about the Queue, open the Crest app, go to the Queue, and tap the Help icon.
Do I need an account to use Crest?
No. There are no accounts, no sign-ins, and no passwords. Everything is stored locally on your device.
Does Crest collect my data?
Almost nothing. Your subscriptions, queue, and playback history all stay on your device and never leave it. The only exception is optional, anonymous analytics — you choose during onboarding, and can change your mind in Settings at any time. Read the full Privacy Policy for details.
Can I listen to specific episodes, or only the latest?
You can browse a show's back catalogue and add any episode to your queue manually. The flow-based default is just that — a default, not a restriction.
Does Crest support OPML import?
It does! Just open your Library, tap the + button, and select "Import OPML".
Which platforms does Crest support?
iOS and Android. Both are currently in beta. A TestFlight slot for iOS is available now, and the Android beta is open via the Play Store.
